OK, a group that consists of one Jewish guy, one South African, and two guys from Mozambique that are signed to a Canadian label, what's that going to sound like? It sounds like some of the most inspired music I have heard in a long time. Led by mc/poet Tumi, who effortlessly conveys socially conscious messages using his near flawless delivery skills, The Volume bring the heat. Everything from hip-hop, to jazz, to rock, to tribal African music are in their arsenal and they do a beautiful job of fusing them all together. The band has only been together for a little over four years, but perform like it's been forty. Check out the documentaries and the video and experience Tumi and The Volume. ![]() |
